“Keep the Fire Burning: A Reflection on Leviticus 6:13”
LIVITICUS 6:13
“The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning the priest is to add firewood and arrange the burnt offering on the fire and burn the fat of the fellowship offerings on it”
Read: Leviticus 6:1-13
The fire must be kept burning. Fire in the Christian life usually symbolizes the fire of the Spirit as well as the burning passion of the believer. It is a must for the believer to keep the fire burning. The Lord will never be pleased by lukewarmness. He desires to see His people burning brightly for Him. Though in reality, it will be hard for us to keep that fire burning. There are many things around us that can put off the fire within us. But, the Lord has given us all favor from heaven to keep the fire. We must continually put firewood and offerings in the altar.
Prayer is the firewood and the offering that will keep the fire burning. It is the only way to be connected to the One Who gives the fire. Prayer is more than asking, it is connecting to God. If we want to stay ignited, then our prayers must be challenged. The truth, many Christians are struggling with lukewarmness because they have neglected the place of prayer. A person who is not connected to God is powerless; just like a Christian who does not pray is fireless.
Reflection:
How is the fire? Is it still burning?
Prayer:
Lord, if ever there is lukewarmness in my heart please forgive me. I desire that fire again, Today I pray, please send the fire and help me to guard and keep it burning. Help my knees to stay bended, and my heart burning for You.
