Being the Echo of God’s Voice
JOHN 1:20-23
“He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed…He said, ‘I am the voice of the one crying out in wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord’, as the Prophet Isaiah said”
Read: John 1:19-28
John the Baptist did not confessed to be the Christ, or any other prophets. He confessed to be the “the voice crying out in the wilderness” prophesied by Isaiah. We can see that John stood in the calling and ministry he had. And we are all like him, we are called and chosen by God for an specific ministry. We must not claim to be anyone else. Let us stand in the place where God called us to be. Surely, He has a purpose and He will use us mightily and effectively for His glory. And one of those specific ministries is being the voice of God. This world is lost, the people needs to hear the Lord. But how can they hear? It is through us! And it is not only about preaching the word, but also about living the word.
We may not be John, but God called us to be His voice. And every day may we choose to be that voice in everything we do. Let His words, love, grace, and faithfulness echo through us.
Reflection:
Does your life echoes the love, grace, and righteousness of God?
Prayer:
Oh Lord, let Your voice be louder through me. Please continue to mold me, and make me the voice that you want me to be. Help me to rise and stand as the person that echoes your greatness.
