Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque was shocked after having tested positive for COVID-19 after undergoing reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test on March 15,2021 and is urging those he has had close contact with to undergo quarantine.
Spox Roque assured that he was not yet COVID-19 positive when he got a close contact with President Rodrigo R. Duterte on March 10,2021. He also accompanied PRRD during the inauguration of development project at Dumaguete-Sibulan Airport on March 11 along with other officials.
“It came as a surprise and as a shock na after about 35 tests, nag-positive tayo. Pero sa akin po , almost routine na ito…..n a Sunday afternoon preparatory to the Monday evening meeting with the President nagpapakuha ng RT-PCR test.” he said.
He also added that he regretted not getting vaccinated when doctors from University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) offered him the Sinovac vaccine on March 1.
Meanwhile, Spox will continue his function while on quarantine since there is no deputy spokesperson.
