The Beauty Of The Savior

In the bible, it is written that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We inherited the sin that was committed by our ancestors, Adam and Eve. That is why even before we are born we are already carrying that sin. In the old times, whenever the Israelites commit sins, they are required to bring a male bull, sheep, or goat with no defects as a burnt offering intended for atonement. This offering serves as a request for a renewed relationship with God as they acknowledge that they have sinned. In other words, blood must flow as a payment for their transgressions.

In the old testament, it was also recorded a lot of times that God allowed and commanded the killing of a thousand people because of their wickedness. A lot of people get confused about why God would allow these things to happen but we should always remember that even though God is merciful, He is also a God of judgment. There is always a consequence for every sin.

Yet, because of His great love and grace to us, He gave His only son Jesus Christ, as payment of our great sins. A thousand years ago, a savior was born and became the way to salvation for there is no such way to be reconciled to the Almighty Father but through Him alone. Jesus died upon the cross of Calvary to pay for the sins that He didn’t commit. His blood that was shed upon the cross has completely washed away the sins of the world. There is no need to bring burnt offerings anymore because His sacrifice has paid it all. He has made it possible for humans to have a personal relationship with God. He became the way to eternal life.

Salvation is a gift from God yet a lot of people have rejected it. They have the belief that if they are doing good deeds, even if they don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus, they will someday go to heaven. But the Bible clearly states that those who will believe in what Jesus has done at the cross and who will confess that He is Lord and will accept Him as their redeemer will not perish but will have everlasting life and will live with God forever. The only access to heaven is Jesus Christ. We will not be saved through our good works but by God’s grace through our faith in Jesus Christ alone.

Apostle Paul has written in the book of Titus 3:5 that Jesus Christ saved us not because of the righteous things we had done but because of His mercy. These verse has just shown what made Christ beautiful. The beauty of Jesus was not in His appearance but in what He has done upon the cross of Calvary demonstrating His love for us. We can never deny the fact that this world is full of wickedness. Why would Jesus sacrifice His life to save this evil world? That is because His love for us is unconditional. We are unworthy yet Jesus has accepted us. He has loved us without condition. Who are we, that He is mindful of us? We are just sinners given a chance that we don’t even deserve. Now, we are called children of God. We now belong to the royal family. The crown of life is waiting for us when we finish the race of faith. And this will not only be given to us but also to those who will accept Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
